Are you a new patient looking for a dentist near Escondido? At Douglas G Hope, DDS, the team believes no one should have to go on a scavenger hunt to find their general and cosmetic dentist. That is why the office features all aspects of dentistry under one roof. As part of our efforts to constantly improve the patient experience, we offer new patient forms that you can easily download for your convenience.
Getting Started
Becoming a new patient with us is a lighthearted and often educational experience. We’re a judgement-free dental practice with a focus on your health and well-being. If you don’t need a dental treatment, we won’t recommend it! Of course the best way to gain a true look at your dental health is to give us a call and schedule your first appointment.
Your First Appointment
At your first appointment, Dr. Hope will guide you through a comprehensive new patient exam where, after the appropriate digital X-rays are taken, you will get to spend quality time with the doctor, share your questions or concerns, and address any findings. An oral cancer exam, initial periodontal exam, TMJ exam, and a restorative dental exam will also take place, including a digital video tour and assessment of your mouth. Utilizing all of the information and discussing your desires and goals, a thorough care plan will be made and individualized for you.
Before You Leave
The second half of your new patient exam will include spending time with our dental hygienist, who will thoroughly evaluate your periodontal tissues (gums) to check for symptoms of periodontal disease (gum disease), and perform a gentle teeth cleaning. At the same time she will make recommendations about how to maintain or improve your dental health. A periodontal care plan can be customized just for you. Before you leave our office it is our goal to help you feel in-the-know and confident about your dental health and treatment options should you need any.

At Dr. Hope’s office, we do everything we can to give every patient a healthy smile! That’s why we offer a $139 New Patient Special, which includes full exam, teeth cleaning, X-rays, and long-term treatment plan. Contact us today to book your first visit.
Payments, Finance and Dental Insurance
For your convenience, we accept cash, check and most major credit cards. We also offer Care Credit, an easy financing tool to help you pay for your dental care at your own pace, with low monthly payments and low-to-no interest rates.
Although dentists are not party to the contractual arrangement between each patient and their insurance company, our staff is determined to help you get the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. One way we do that is to process your insurance claims for you. We also are glad to provide dental X-rays and a written diagnostic report to answer any questions made by your insurance company about our services.
Post-Op Forms
From the first dental visit to checking in with you after a treatment, it is the goal of our team to be there for you every step of the way. No matter if you need a dental implant, root canal or cavity filling, we believe in providing our patients with the best quality information and support to keep them smiling in their best health. That is why we provide post-op forms for easy download online, and encourage you to give us a call should you have questions about your dental care.
